Kidsville Outdoors in the Park

March 2026

Kidsville celebrates the outdoors! Due to the temporary Parthenon closure, Kidsville's regular Saturday programs will get closer to nature by moving to Centennial Park's outdoor playground area.

Join us on Saturdays for storytelling, arts & crafts, music and special guests. Registration is required.

Families with children ages 12 and under can register in the lobby beginning at 10:30 AM, and children will immediately be able to participate in activity & craft stations.

Weekly storytelling or special guest programming will begin promptly at 11 AM in front of Athena.

March 2026 Dates:

  • March 7: Explore the outside delights of Centennial Park with Kidsville friends, Imagination Library for a playtime at the playground, book reading of the book, What’s New, Daniel? by Micha Archer and make a craft.

  • March 14: It’s Pi Day! (3.14 - the mathematical constant that helps us measure the circumference and diameter of circles…even ones inside trees). Discover more about Pi by measuring and playing on the playground and a special circle craft.

  • March 21: Celebrate the beginning of Spring with a reading of the book, Busy Spring: Nature Wakes Up by Taylor and Morss, then make nature journals and play on the playground as we look for signs of spring.

  • March 28: Our friends from Vanderbilt University’s Dyer Observatory join us and offer kids a chance to look through their solar telescope and create a star map and play at the playground.

NOTE: Events will be cancelled if temperature is below freezing or there is more than a light rain.
